capgras syndrome
Capgras syndrome or the capgrass delusion is defined when someone believes that the people they are closest to have been replaced by other people, robots, aliens, cheezheads, whatever.
In Australia, a man who believed that his father had been replaced by a robot put his theory to the test by cutting his father's head off. This is an example of capgras syndrome's violent side.
